Objectives
Overall Goal
Empowering communities for sustainable development in Sierra Leone.
Organizational Objectives
To promote education and awareness on the country’s environment in general and
in particular the conservation of the country’s biodiversity.
To promote the practice of human rights as it affects the socio-economic, political
and developmental life of Sierra Leoneans as a means to access resources, facilities
and opportunities.
To ensure that the voice of people are heard in policy discussions, and will itself
influence policy in the interests of people at community and national levels on issues
that fall within its strategic and program directions, as well as in issues on which
Green Scenery and its partners have knowledge and experience.
To facilitate the build-up of the resource capacity of depressed communities and
poor people by building and enhancing their knowledge base while equipping them
with livelihood skills.
Cross-cutting Issues
In the implementation of Green Scenery’s programs, the major crosscutting issue, which
shall be employed, and thus serving as the measure of success for impact realization
shall be: THE OBSERVANCE OF HUMAN RIGHTS. Green Scenery believes that
respect for human rights is central to all human development (environment, secured
livelihood, gender, peace and governance). Therefore, all of Green Scenery’s programs,
activities and interventions will not only be humane but shall bare strong elements of
human rights promotion. Green Scenery’s role in bringing about development through
transformation hinges strongly on empowerment of people especially the disadvantaged
and advocacy for change in policies that do not allow people to live dignified lives.
