LIVELIHOOD PROGRAM

This programme identifies economic injustices and related national and international policies adopted by the country and facilitates advocacy around these issues for policy change or implementation. The programme also searches for alternative livelihoods that can be explored by depressed communities, marginalized and or vulnerable groups as a means to ensure livelihood security.

Activities

Organize training/sensitization workshops and seminar.

To enable poorer households access to successful enterprise ventures, and obtain employment through the promotion of relevant training.

Explore case studies on alternative livelihoods

To increase the capacity of communities to provide and manage, in a sustainable way, some of the economic and social services needed to meet their basic livelihood requirements

Animate communities, and affected groups to explore potential livelihoods inherent to their community

Research into alternative livelihoods that can be adapted or adopted by communities

Advocate for policy frameworks that assures secured livelihoods for all

Sensitize/educate the public and advocates/lobby for pro-poor people budget
