ENVIRONMENT
This programme will employ various approaches to ensure that communities are empowered
to undertake their own conservation, protection and rehabilitation practices. Animation,
Education, awareness raising, information sharing, silvicultural training, policy advocacy and
other best practices shall form the various approaches Green Scenery will use to ensure this.
The approach will be gender sensitive, while research will constitute a strong support for our
approach.
Activities
• Build the capacities of communities to effectively manage and protect their shared
natural resources and prevent deterioration of the physical environment. Actively
support local communities including those in the mining areas for their participation in
environmental programs.
• Undertake and promote thematic and sectoral researches, learning experiences and
information sharing.
• Promote biodiversity for the purpose of eco-tourism
• Support eco – tourism and the health sector
• Undertake campaigns and awareness raising on biodiversity for the purpose of
protection
• Undertake policy advocacy to bring about policy change on the protection of critical
ecological sites
• Engage in environmental education at all levels.
• Undertake research work on pertinent environmental issues using the results for
advocacy
• Promote energy saving methods.Enable environment.
